Decked

The D-bag is a heavy duty hybrid soft and hard shell tool bag, with removable interior organization. The bag is designed to fit perfectly into Decked’s existing vehicle drawer system, and also functions as a standalone bag and backpack.

Decked manufactures a popular drawer system for truck beds, loved by workers, recreationalists and many others. However, the duffels and other bags are prone to snagging inside the drawer, jamming the drawer closed. Our goal was to create a compelling modular bag system that fits perfectly inside the Decked drawer, eliminating jamming issues.

This project included CAD design for custom molded foam panels and custom zipper pulls. After initial concepts, I built multiple production-quality sets of sewn prototypes with 3d printed hardware, which were used for real-world user testing.
